How much filter is too much?
Jit Seng Lee Filter is annoying me as well. Who ever did video editing should be fired, he/she literally just put a filter.
How does it drive? Is it comfy? Deal with bumps ok? How does it handle and make you feel?
What about the infotainment does that stand up to rivals, is it easy to use?
You talked about the suspension but not sure if you said it worked well as its meant to.
And if your going to critic the price compare it to its rivals with there options on just to say why?
Feels like some part of the video didn't make it into the final cut.
Oscar Lee no kidding, but if thats the case just dont bother posting it. Missing important information on the car like how it actually drives is pretty important

Sorry, but what a bad review. It is a premium car and it has to be pricy! I had a chance to take a closer look at DS cars and I"m quite familiar with their engines; and it is worth every penny! First of all, active scan suspension means you won't drive anything comfier than DS in this class and second - compare how much of this technology costs in and Audis or BMWs. So, you are very, very wrong. It is beautiful, engines are good, it is comfortable and well built. Well done DS! I would take this over an Audi, BMW and Mercedes every day. And yes, test a 2.0 HDi, you'll be even more impressed.

However DS and Citroen is the car that nobody would want to buy second hand, so good luck selling it even if it's worth over 10k
People these days want a car to do everything and cost 30k maximum. They don't understand that tech costs and demand also makes things pricier.
This car is very well equipped and it's very cheap for what it's offering. A german car would cost way more with the same tech and even miss some features. Even the Mini Countryman which is supposed to be a lower tier car costs around 7k more fully kitted and some of the DS features aren't even an option.
A fully loaded e-pace is 75k £ and sry but that is too much. I would safe the cash and buy the DS

Tom Heard Me too. But I would wait for the plug in hybrid because i want the performance and the silence of the electic engine. But if you dont want that just buy one. I think its better than all of its rivals. It looks awesome
For me that dashboard design looks better than audi and bmw's.
I also don't get what you mean by "too much".. Too much buttons? I'm pretty sure when panamera had the buttons in the middle like a spine no one disliked it. Hmmm
She never gave it a chance. Never even showed the interior. Pathetic journalism.
She prefers the show off value of Audi Q7 husband gave her. Then she probably can't park it, because it too large. Some women like big show off SUVs even more than men, so DS is defnitely too small to be liked here.
This was a poor review with no real information and loads of parts missing.
Ginny is so wrong saying 46,000 is to much for a prestige ds 7 crossback they is an expensive watch on the dash that probably will be worth a couple hundred or a thousand maybe ,they is a MASSIVE 12.5 TOUCH SCREEN!!Beutiful leather seats with a pattern on them,posh head lamps that are led and much more
So it's a bad car not because it's bad...but because it's priced as a premium? Someone please tell these carbuyer folks that the DS is PSA group's premium brand.
Not only that but the range topper at 40 grand isn't even close to what Audi asks for a similar model.
Please, STOP forcing people into thinking that these are bad cars. STOP being badge snobs when it comes to reviewing anything that is not german, when it's been proven clearly that the premium german brands (Audi and BMW) were among the worst reliable brands in the UK in 2017.

Honestly, I just love this car. Got to admire the beauty, I can't seem to agree to her statement saying 'it's too much'. Feels like she's not a fan of the badge as it's not a Merc, Audi, Jag or another top brand...!!!

I normally agree with Ginny but I feel she's way off the mark here. Who decides if a car is too much? A similarly specced Audi Q5 would be more. DS is trying to make itself a premium alternative to the likes of Merc, Audi and BMW - it's never going to be that if it sells its cars too cheaply.
She's absolutely right. No one in their right mind would choose that ketchup on ice cream car for £46000 against German brands.
I disagree. It looks different, has a stunning interior and some really nice frugal engines. I had a DS5 for almost two years. It was stunning to look at, reliable and beautifully made. Clearly this car appeals to people who want something a little different, rather than being sheep.
How was the depreciation compared to something like Skoda or VW? ;)
kansalta I paid £11300 for a 4 year old model with 27000 miles on the clock. I sold it for £8500 25 months later and with 39000 miles on the clock. All in all, I don’t think that’s too bad.
Depreciation is very rarely a factor in my purchasing choices. I just like something that little bit different.
this is a cheaper, more spacious, and in my opinion, better looking car than something mundane and german car. if you’re not a badge snob, its a great alternative to a bmw x1
Clearly NO understanding of premium, what it means or how a brand is developed to meet those criteria. Basically what this reviewing is saying it that PSA shouldn't bother creating a premium brand as badge snobs like the reviewer will always buy the usual suspects. The first step any brand takes to become premium is charge a premium price, that's how Land Rover moved from off road vehicle builder in the late 90' to luxury car supply. Come on carbuyer, learn your subject matter, you're supposed to be experts.
Carbuyer The 70's filter you're using is horrible for a car review where people need to see things more clearly with accurate colors.. I'm sorry to say this but thats just beyond stupid it's not a movie nor an artistic shoot.
I'll look for another youtube reviewer to actually see the car.

Why is the clock a gimmick ? It’s functional and works as a clock. I m sure the driver can see the time on the dashboard but the centrally mounted clock allows rear passengers to see the time.

had the chance to test drive the 200PS Hybrid for a weekend so ask if you have any questions :) btw it looks simply amazing in anthracite with optional black grille
This isn't the first video I've seen where the person has bashed the car because it doesn't have 4 rings on the grill, or the letters BMW on the back. Yes, this is an expensive car. But for similar spec in a German luxury alternative, I have 3 words. Value For Money. I own a 2016 DS3 (top spec). My mum owns a 3 month old A Class (latest model) and the differences are slight. Only real difference is all the gimmicky tech on the Mercedes (oh but we've just found out after paying for all the software options, she now has to SUBSCRIBE and pay monthly fees to fully use them!) She wishes she had my car now 😊
First big problem, she said, is that DS is competing against BMW and AUDI. What do you mean by that? That nobody should compete BMW? Compare quality and prices at least.
The statement that the price is way too high is absolutely biased and also plain wrong. I have tried both the Audi Q3 and Q5 in the last couple of weeks. And then I have tried the DS7. The Q3 is not even in the same league. It's small, has lots of cheap plastic and actually the climate controls of the old A3 (which I currently drive).
The Q5 already looks dated on the inside, despite being of course very well put together. But now to the price:
I just ordered my DS7 with all these nice features and it costs 55.000 Euro. This includes Nappa leather, Focal sound system, all the tech stuff, etc.
Just for fun I stuffed an Audi Q5 with all these options (ventilated seats are not even available as it seems), and also the Panoramic roof was missing, and it already cost 72.500 Euro. And that's with the 150hp Diesel, not the 190hp. (To be fair, the 150hp has the same performance as the DS7 180hp motor, so that's a fair comparison).
That is 17.500 Euro more, just because it's an Audi. Nonsense.
So please explain your statement, that the price for the DS is too high. (While in the very same video in the beginning you say that it is priced like the smaller SUVs, but competes with the big ones.).
Either this video is completely biased, or it is paid by someone who is not DS :)
Agreed with most of the comments here. Not enough praise was given to this car. Seriously though, anybody interested absolutely must see this car in person at a DS dealership to really appreciate it. What a stunning car this is. And a much more refreshing design when compared to the boring German cars about. Compare this to the Audi Q5 of the same year. Looks 10 years older compared to the DS7
This is the ultimate "there is no bad car, it depends on the user" scenario. Something I see in User Experience and product design everyday. Cars like the interior decoration of ones home is very subjective. Some will see this as value for money, others not. Where I would disagree is when a car reviewer implies influence on what is too expensive. Too many people follow the masses so I would not be surprised if others sing a similar tune after watching this review.

the tester could have dressed a little more elegantly to match the car maybe? And why is the fully loaded price too much? She seems to be besotted to badges rather than inherent qualities of the product. Would a fully loaded E Pace be any cheaper and a better car? No info as to how the driving experience compares to anything....hmmm...as though she was desperate to finish the test to just leave us hanging with the last unwarranted statement. Will never bother to watch anything else by her.

You get a French car for the styling mainly, function and reliability have always been a thing to be desired. I have a £25,000 (and I didn't pay full asking price, just with 1k miles on the clock) Renault Sport Clio Trophy, and already there have been problems with lighting effects, and the nat sav screen began to flicker the other day due to a build up of heat with the hot weather... I've never had this with previous German cars ive owned before from the likes of BMW and VW. It is only a year and a half old, and already I am thinking of upgrading to something newer as I don't want to be dealing with loads of gradual electronic faults it has already started developing. The engine however is superb and has given me plenty of fuel economy and even better ratings than manufacturer specification sheets.
It sure is a beautiful car, inside and outside with fantastic features and drives so smooth and powerful which we have not heard at all.
I can bet that, although rightfully priced on the premium level, it is very well positioned against the “well known” rivals.
Test drive and compare prices to see what I mean.

To me, it looks more like she's been a bit lazy and hasn't bothered to carry out a comprehensive review of what seems a really fine French car. I would buy one, (and I'm English).

Yes, £46k is a lot of money but that's a fully specced and optioned car.
Like she said, it's competing with an XC40 but it's the size of the XC60 so of course it's going to be priced between the two. A fully specced XC40 will cost you around £46k but if you want the XC60 to match this DS7 in terms of space but also want petrol that starts at £45k before you even touch a single option. I just configured an XC60 with a handful of options and it came to £57k.
Now the DS7 is starting to look like good value for money.

I would love this in a lighter gold color without the yellow tones. Shame they don't do interior leather options in navy, light beige and dark red with the diamond design would look fab. Also, they should lighten the interior roof to make it feel less dark inside. Great car though!

What a bad review. I agree with a lot of critics of this review. She left a gaping hole of information on what SHOULD be in a car review. Instead, the 'repetitive' punchline is the negative comments carefully place along the review. The way she gloriously expose the 'cheap' plastic way below in the car's interior is a prime example. She just couldn't wait to reveal that huge problem, huh? This is a review done exactly the same way when a bias British presenter / publication do their normal job in destroying French car. It like its done with a premeditated intention. Weird to think that the British presenter are okay with premium Germans, but will go so harsh on a new French brand inspire to be premium. Her unprofessional last comment is nothing but a desperate attempt to kill off DS 7. Carbuyer, this is a shameful shameful review.

Why is it gimmicky the interior is amazing if it was a BMW or audi you would say it was amazing just because its a ds you say its gimmicky the interior knock spots off of BMW and audi I think you should do your homework a bit better on the car

This DS is tempty coz it offers exclusivity. Its really unique. I dont like the engines. Too slow for the price and the competitors are really stronger here. But the looks are hot
I test drove one and it was impressive.. but for the price I went for a used Lexus RX450h in F Sport.. it’s had the depreciation and has first class build quality.. adaptive suspension, radar cruise control, LED laser scan headlights, heated and vented seats etc etc.. comes with Lexus reliability as well for good measure. I agree this car is just over priced... it’s not in the same league as a Lexus or BMW.. sorry.

Jaguar e pace?
Bought a prestige this year thinking it would come with lots of jewellery. What a disappointment. Really not worth the money. Good points are, it’s very comfortable, and it’s a good drive. But because of its cost, I would recommend look elsewhere.

PLEASE CAR BUYER STOP TO CUT THE BLACKS ! I know it's a trend in photo and video to cut the blacks and whites, it gives in a second a cinematic look. But almost all the cars you review have black interiors, and between you colors and compression, when you say the "glove box is tiny" we have to trust you, we can only see flat black, no shapes, no volumes. You're not the only ones to do that, it's not TOP GEAR, or The Grand Tour, we are here to see the cars.

PSA need to stop using that hideous cruise control stalk below the indicator - it's okay in a lower end vehicle and commercial vehicle but not a "luxury" car.
they dont use this system in the DS5. Cruise controle on the stearing wheel. I dont know why they changed it for the 7.

rahmann936 Because neither of those will have the same ride quality or active scan suspension and neither will be as high quality inside. Audi by the way uses the same company for their interiors which the PSA group owns. Sooo...
So would you buy one then? I would have one myself for the styling and comfortable ride. But they have priced it too high for exclusvity for what is a posh Citroen.
Almost beautiful car
Awful review this mind. Gets a few facts wrong, mispronounces words and leaves whole swathes of what a review should include out altogether. Must try harder I'm afraid.

Very biased review. There is no clue about the ride quality, the comfort, the sound insulation or the handling of the car. All those information could be simply found at a DS brochure or at a DS store. Next time, when you argue that BMW or AUDI is better (which might be true) please justify it. Arguments based on the name of the brand (or the country of origin!!!) are completely unprofessional and definitely should not be called -in-depth reviews- . At least funny!
P.S. when you mention that the first problem of the car is that it competes premium brands, this is completely irrelevant to a car review. This should be a concern of the DS brand or of a buyer concerning the residual value.
